Foxhill Manor is an intimate eight-key Arts & Crafts manor hotel on the Cotswolds’ renowned Farncombe Estate. Originally a private house, it retains the heartfelt personal service and easy-going atmosphere of a home and forgoes many more traditional elements to embody the ‘anti-hotel’ experience.
Each of Foxhill’s individually-designed bedrooms and suites celebrates the building’s artistic heritage with a nod to the owners’ Scandinavian heritage, and features neutral colours alongside contemporary and antique pieces, and original art. Rooms range from a cosy crow’s nest at the top of the manor to a vast, light-filled suite equipped with twin bathtubs, four poster bed, fireside lounge and bespoke designer furniture.
Epitomising the home-from-home atmosphere, the kitchen is a central hub for guests who are welcomed at any time of the day to chat through the local and seasonal ingredients on offer and any particular foodie desires with head chef, Richard Thorpe. They are also invited to dine wherever they wish, from breakfast in bed to bubbles in the bath, or delve into a well-stocked pantry when cravings hit.
Further facilities include a media room with beanbags and popcorn on tap; a grand ballroom with space for 70; a sun-soaked terrace with views of the sweeping estate; access to the House Spa at sister property, Dormy House; and a 400-acre bucolic playground on the doorstep. With the option to either book an individual bedroom or to hire the house in its entirety, the manor is suited to almost any occasion, from a romantic getaway à deux to a business retreat or country wedding.
