Pioneering wellness brand, SHA has announced the opening of their Mexico outpost in January 2024 in the state of Quintana Roo, in the eastern portion of the Yucatán Peninsula. This carefully planned expansion programme has been developed by the AB Living Group and through this new venture, SHA will continue to drive its award-winning concept forward, redefining integrated and transformative wellness across the globe. The complex itself will be made up of 35 residences and 100 ocean front rooms & suites, each with private balconies that feature panoramic vistas of the turquoise Caribbean Sea.

Guests will choose between four personalised health programmes (which will mimic that of those in SHA’s Spanish outpost and range from four to 21 days). Each programme will be curated to meet the guests’ needs and goals through nine key disciplines which all come together to form what has become known as the SHA Method. Unique to SHA Mexico, the wellness clinic is set off the coast of the largest coral reef in the Americas offering guests a unique location to immerse with nature, which has its own healing benefits, along with therapies inspired in the prehepatic cultures, such as Temazcal, aimed to heal the body and the mind.

FOR SEXUAL AUTHENTICITY, FREEDOM AND PLEASURE

SHA Wellness Clinic, the global pioneer of medical and holistic wellbeing, launches Sexual Health Unit

Bringing the clinic to a new era, the new dedicated Sexual Health Unit at SHA Wellness Clinic will optimise the sexual and hormone health of its guests improving their overall emotional balance and quality of life through a three-tiered approach. Spearheaded by Clinic Psychologist, Cinthya Molina, the new Sexual Health Unit takes its lead from the WHO’s research which states that boosting your sexual wellbeing is a fundamental factor in improving one’s own overall mental, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual health. The unit was also inspired and informed by the latest analytical data which concluded that approximately 52% of women and 38% of men suffer from some type of sexual dysfunction at some point in their lives. With this in mind, it will address all aspects of sexual wellness including function, desire, and self-esteem.

Much like every other cornerstone of health at SHA, the Sexual Health Unit will delve deep to produce a bespoke and ultra-personalised treatment plan based on the individual guest’s needs and goals. The cornerstone of the service is an initial consultation with Dr Molina, who will carry out a comprehensive assessment of the patient. From here, a consultation of the function of the guest’s neuroendocrine axis (the key communication highway between the gut environment and the central nervous system) will take place, followed by a consultation with a gynaecologist and urologist to review the patient’s overall physical health in relation to sexual function. Based on these diagnostic tests, personalised treatments will be included in each guest’s programme and may include high intensity inductive therapy to tone and regenerate tissue, female intimate rejuvenation to improve the pelvic floor or a stem cell treatment for erectile dysfunction.

To book: Rates for a Deluxe Suite at SHA Wellness Clinic are from £345 per night. Rates for health programmes are subject to variation. For more information please visit shawellness.com/en/ / Imagery: here

FOR HEALTH AND WELLBEING FAR BEYOND THE SPA

Hotel Castello di Reschio, Umbria, introduces new bath ritual and series of Creative Contemplation experiences

Reschio is an enchanting 3,700-acre estate home to Hotel Castello di Reschio and a collection of exquisite private homes that have been meticulously restored by the owners, Count Benedikt and Donna Nencia Bolza. New for 2024, the Reschio Bath Ritual is designed to revive the feeling of a mother’s care with nurturing hands in the warmth of the Bathhouse, an ethereal retreat in the depths of the hotel’s ancient-vaulted wine cellars. This two-hour ritual begins with dry brushing to stimulate lymphatic drainage and help the body release toxins, while increasing blood circulation and boosting collagen production. A carefully curated selection of seasonal plants and wildflowers fill the bathtub, bespoke to guests’ need and healing. The body is immersed and washed gently with cotton and hemp, before being swathed in a linen sheet. The ritual ends with a restorative massage using essential oils foraged by hand in the estate as guests relax to the sound and warmth of the roaring open fireplace. Elsewhere in the Bathhouse lies a tepidarium carved into an ancient cave and a cleansing steam room.

At Reschio, wellness goes far beyond the spa and guests are encouraged to explore the bountiful wilderness and embrace inner creativity. Inspired by the skills first mastered in the monasteries, the new series of ‘Creative Contemplation’ experiences are designed to disconnect from modern life, revel in a slower pace and reap the therapeutic benefits of tending things by hand. Guests can join local masters to learn a host of new skills; art aficionados can perfect the practice of calligraphy or illuminated letters, paper marbling welcomes expression through pattern, while colour making teaches one of the very first methods of adding a uniqueness to fabric. In the heart of nature, guests can admire the beauty of Reschio’s 40 Spanish pure-bred horses at the Equestrian Centre before heading out on a guided hack or immerse themselves in foraging workshops before learning the art of Italian cuisine at the cookery school.

To Book: Rates at Hotel Castello di Reschio start from £750 per suite per night on a B&B basis. A two-night minimum stay applies. For more information, please visit reschio.com / Imagery: here
