Account Manager

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Account Manager to join our team to work on some exciting new client wins and help us transition into our next exciting growth chapter. The ideal candidate will:

o Have 3-4 years’ experience working with luxury travel brands in a communications role. Some prior experience in marketing and editorial roles would also be valuable
o Be passionate about travel and hospitality with a solid understanding of the ins and outs of the industry
o Understand the luxury consumer and how to influence them on and offline
o Have an excellent understanding of how the media works and how to pitch effectively, and a strong network of journalists, bloggers and digital influencers to activate across travel, lifestyle, design, wellness and gastronomy sectors
o Have strong client management skills and feel confident managing up to directors, while managing and training up account executives
o Be a confident networker with a sociable and tenacious nature
o Be a creative thinker able to develop unique story angles, events and partnership opportunities
o Be a strong writer able to draft and edit compelling press releases, media pitches and blogs
o Have a love for media pitching and finding unique story angles for feature placements
o Be an agile multi-tasker able to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects
o Be a team player who supports all co-workers and champions the agency

Your main responsibilities will include:

o Day-to-day management of a varied portfolio of clients, supported by a very capable senior account executive
o Nurturing and expanding relationships with journalists across multiple sectors on a daily basis via email, phone and face to face pitches
o Influencer, tastemaker and VIP engagement
o Proactive, creative media outreach, pitching and story placement
o Inputting in annual PR plans, contributing to strategy and creative direction for your clients
o Educational trips to clients to research their destinations, represent the agency and discuss PR strategy
o Managing client meetings and conference calls and acting as the main contact for day-to-day queries on the account
o Organising and hosting seamless group media, influencer and tastemaker trips to client destinations
o Seeking opportunities for well-matched creative activations and cross-sector brand partnerships
o Managing client and co-hosted brand events
o Drafting and editing compelling press releases, pitches, editorial and blog content
o Attending media and industry meetings, networking events and travel trade fairs and conferences
o Managing monthly reporting, administration, output and reviewing deliverables
o Coordinating media schedules for client/press appointments and travel trade fairs

Social Media Manager

We are looking for a Social Media Manager to join our team in a newly created role to help execute, drive and grow social media presence for an exciting roster of travel clients, as well as BIRD’s own channels. This is an exciting opportunity to learn from our experienced Digital Strategist, and join a thriving young agency with an excellent reputation and an enviable client list.

The ideal candidate will:
o Have 2 – 3 years’ experience running and growing social media accounts (primarily Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn) ideally with a luxury travel or lifestyle brand
o Be target-driven and results-oriented when it comes to organic, meaningful growth of accounts
o Be analytical with competent knowledge of social media reporting and metrics, and Google Analytics
o Have experience creating social media campaigns and strategies, including budget planning, content ideation, and implementation schedules
o Experience in utilising outreach engagement strategies to grow channels organically
o Be competent with editing apps to create unique social media content
o Have a genuine interest in the ever-evolving social media landscape, keeping abreast of trends, research and new features
o Have an understanding of Facebook advertising and SEO
o Have experience drafting photography / videography briefs
o Be passionate about travel and luxury brands with a personal interest in following relevant channels and familiar with the “who’s who” of travel and lifestyle influencers
o Have an understanding of how social media fits into marketing and PR
o Be a strong writer with a snappy style, adaptable tone of voice and beady eye for spelling and grammar
o Have a strong eye for aesthetics, content sourcing and picture research
o Be highly organised and an agile multi-tasker able to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects
o Be a competent photographer / videographer able to capture and create original content (desirable but not essential)
o Be a team player who supports all co-workers and champions the agency
o Have bounds of energy and enthusiasm, true willingness to learn and a real desire for professional growth

Your main responsibilities will include:
o Day-to-day social media management for a growing roster of social clients in the UK and overseas
o Driving the strategy for each account forward, meeting and surpassing KPIs and targets
o Developing and implementing creative content strategies and plans
o Drafting compelling captions and responses appropriate to each client’s particular tone of voice
o Daily outreach engagement for increased reach and performance
o Regular picture research and editing
o Monthly reporting and analysis of results
o Presenting results in client meetings and conference calls
o Drafting detailed briefs and shot lists for photographers and videographers
o Organising and hosting seamless influencer trips to client destinations
o Devising creative social activations and cross-sector partnerships
o Assisting with influencer strategy: searching skills to identify and qualify relevant influencers
o Working collaboratively with the respective PR team for each account on client storytelling and influencer activity
o Keeping up to date with social media trends and news
o Attending industry events, conferences and seminars on behalf of the agency
o Contributing to new business proposals
