Account Manager
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Account Manager to join our team to work on some exciting new client wins and help us transition into our next exciting growth chapter. This is a really fantastic opportunity to join a thriving agency, with an excellent reputation and an enviable client list, that is on an upwards growth curve.
As an Account Manager at BIRD you will:
- Have approx 3-4 years’ experience working with luxury travel brands in a communications role. Some prior experience in marketing and editorial roles would also be valuable
- Be passionate about travel and hospitality with a solid understanding of the ins and outs of the industry
- Understand the luxury consumer and how to influence them on and offline
- Have an excellent understanding of how the media works and how to pitch effectively, and a strong network of journalists, bloggers and digital influencers to activate across travel, lifestyle, design, wellness and gastronomy sectors
- Have strong client management skills and feel confident managing up to directors, while managing and training up account executives
- Be a confident networker with a sociable and tenacious nature
- Be a creative thinker able to develop unique story angles, events and partnership opportunities
- Be a strong writer able to draft and edit compelling press releases, media pitches and blogs
- Have a love for media pitching and finding unique story angles for feature placements
- Be an agile multi-tasker able to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects
- Be a team player who supports all co-workers and champions the agency
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Day-to-day client management and campaign execution
- Managing and developing a very capable Account Executive and Press assistant/intern
- Nurturing and expanding relationships with journalists across multiple sectors on a daily basis via email, phone and face to face pitches
- Influencer, tastemaker and VIP engagement
- Proactive, creative media outreach, pitching and story placement
- Inputting in annual PR plans, contributing to strategy and creative direction for your clients
- Educational trips to clients to research their destinations, represent the agency and discuss PR strategy
- Managing client meetings and conference calls and acting as the main contact for day-to-day queries on the account
- Organising and hosting seamless group media, influencer and tastemaker trips to client destinations
- Seeking opportunities for well-matched creative activations and cross-sector brand partnerships
- Managing client and co-hosted brand events
- Drafting and editing compelling press releases, pitches, editorial and blog content
- Attending media and industry meetings, networking events and travel trade fairs and conferences
- Managing monthly reporting, administration, output and reviewing deliverables
- Coordinating media schedules for client/press appointments and travel trade fair
Salary & Company Benefits :
- Salary depending on experience
- Bonus for new client introductions (10% of the first 12 months’ fee)
- Recruitment bonus (£500 for introducing a successful candidate)
