Senior Account Manager/Account Director

Due to internal promotions at BIRD to form our new Leadership Team, alongside some exciting new client wins, we are looking to grow our senior team. The ideal candidate will:

o Have 6-7 years’ experience working with luxury travel brands in a communications role. Some prior experience in marketing and editorial roles would also be valuable
o Have solid expertise in the luxury travel and hospitality sectors
o Be a creative, strategic mind able to develop and drive standout strategies and PR plans encompassing story development, events and partnership opportunities
o Have excellent management skills able to strike up senior client relations whilst developing and nurturingtheir own team with kindness and diplomacy
o Be a team player who supports all co-workers and champions the agency
o Have an innate understanding of the luxury consumer and how to influence them on and offline
o Be a dynamic networker with a sociable, tenacious nature and a well-established network of editors, freelancers and influencers at their finger tips
o Have a global outlook able to grow international relationships and be willing to travel on media tours and educational trips
o Be a strong writer able to draft and edit compelling press releases, media pitches and blogs
o Have an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoy the thrill of pitching for new clients
o Have experience with digital campaigns and social media management to drive strategy and oversee execution
o Be an agile multi-tasker able to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects

This role will be work closely with the agency’s Leadership Team (Founder, PR & Operations Director and Creative Director) to manage your own team and roster of clients. Your main responsibilities will include:

o Devising integrated communications strategies (PR and social) and creative direction for your clients
o Taking the day-to-day lead on driving your client accounts forward, ensuring that expectations are managed and KPIs achieved or surpassed
o Training and progressing the team beneath you (a very capable Account Manager and Account Executive) to maximise output
o Educational trips to clients to research their destinations, represent the agency and discuss PR strategy
o Leading client meetings and acting as the main contact for strategic consultancy
o Organising and hosting seamless media, influencer and tastemaker trips to client destinations alongside high-impact events in London
o Implementing cross-sector brand partnerships and creative activations
o Very active networking to nurture relationships with journalists, influencers and KOLs across multiple sectors and ensuring strong visibility and results for your clients
o Drafting and editing compelling press releases, pitches, editorial and blog content
o Oversee reporting, administration and deliverables undertaken by your team
o Regular liaison with PRs for partner hotels, tour operators, airlines & tourist boards
o Coordinating media schedules for client/press appointments and travel trade fairs
o Overseeing creative social media strategies and content creation campaigns for certain clients
o Keep on top of trends and key competitors, regularly sharing intelligence with BIRD team and clients where relevant
o Supporting the Leadership Team with business development, contributing to new client proposals and exploring new business opportunities

Salary: TBC dependent on experience
