The Austrian bolthole introduces three brand new wellness rituals for seasonal renewal in the Alps, as well as an all-new outdoor pool

As Summer unfolds across the Austrian Alps, eriro unveils three newly curated wellness rituals designed to support grounding, release, and renewal. Set at 1,550 metres, the nine-suite sanctuary offers a quiet invitation to slow down and reconnect with nature’s rhythms.
Developed by Spa Manager and expert skin specialist, Selma, each ritual is a multi-sensory journey rooted in traditional techniques and sensory therapies. Inspired by the surrounding alpine landscape, the treatments combine targeted bodywork, botanical herbal infusions and mindful touch, working in sequence to ease tension, restore vitality and support physical and mental release.

- Grounding (90 minutes): Focused on stability and connection to nature, this ritual begins with a regenerating foot scrub and warming stone pine foot bath, followed by a targeted massage that focuses on releasing deep muscle tension, working from the feet through the calves to the thighs. Guests may enhance the experience with an optional barefoot walk across alpine meadows or a revitalising Kneipp therapy session in nature. The ritual concludes with time to absorb the surrounding tranquillity, either independently or accompanied back to the spa
- Letting Go (90 minutes): Designed for deep relaxation and emotional release, this ritual opens with a warm oil pour over the forehead and scalp to soothe the nervous system and quiet the mind. A full-body massage follows using aromatic oils such as alpine rose or lavender, combining flowing Ayurvedic-inspired strokes with a gentle skin-stimulating technique. A soothing head and facial massage complete the experience, leaving guests feeling light and restored
- Cleansing Ritual (90 minutes): A revitalising treatment centred on purification and renewal. The experience begins with an invigorating full-body dry brush massage using natural bristles to stimulate circulation and activate the lymphatic system. This is followed by the application of a nourishing body balm and a cup of detoxifying nettle tea to support the body’s natural cleansing processes

The lower-ground floor spa, nestled among raw rock and alpine meadow, is designed as a place of stillness and reconnection, rooted in the founding philosophy of salus per aquam (healing through water). Two saunas and a series of onsen-style pools, fed by mountain spring water and naturally filtered, encourage a gentle, immersive approach to restoration. Distinctive relaxation spaces, including a hay-inspired room that nods to the site’s former barns traditionally used to store straw and hay in the mountains, further connect the experience to place. Here, as throughout the property, guests are invited to move intuitively, allowing nature to guide the rhythm of each experience. Continuing to evolve its wellness offering, eriro will also introduce a new outdoor swimming pool at the end of May, further enhancing the connection between restorative experiences and the surrounding alpine landscape.
Summer transforms the surrounding landscape into a vivid, sensory environment, as wildflower meadows bloom and forest trails re-emerge. Guests can explore barefoot woodland walks or embark on tailored hikes with eriro’s in-house experts, traversing the dramatic Zugspitze region and remote alpine terrain. Seasonal highlights include the route to Seebensee Lake, where crystal-clear waters offer the opportunity for an invigorating cold-water dip, known to boost circulation and awaken the senses. Additional experiences include guided forest meditation, foraging excursions and bare-foot walks, each designed to deepen connection with the natural world.
Far removed from the bustle of busy resorts, eriro offers a low-stimulation environment where nature takes centre stage. Raw materials, tactile textures and pared-back design create a deeply sensory experience, where the warmth of wood, the solidity of stone and the shifting alpine light foster a quiet connection to place. Within this setting, wellbeing is approached intuitively – encouraging guests to tune into their own rhythms, whether through structured programmes or slower, more organic days of rest and exploration.
