Located within the Sierra Nevada National Park, 2,300 meters above sea level, El Lodge Ski & Spa is an exclusive, boutique retreat in the mountains of southern Spain. A sumptuous, cosy hideaway with the only ski-in/ski-out facilities and heated outdoor pool in the Sierra Nevada, the hotel has a wholesome Kids Club and variety of dining options.
Each of the hotel’s nine rooms and 12 suites boast private terraces and sweeping windows that frame exquisite views of the snow-capped mountains and ever-changing sunlight so prominent in Europe’s most southerly ski resort. The interiors have been thoughtfully designed by London-based design house, Andrew Martin, who brings an elegantly informal approach to traditional alpine style, complete with cowhide rugs, bright Moroccan textiles, Finnish timber and playful touches including vintage posters and antler chandeliers.
El Lodge offers its guests an extensive and spoiling spa experience, featuring indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, two treatment rooms, a gym, Turkish bath and jacuzzi. Breathe in the fresh morning alpine air during dynamic mountain-top yoga classes; be guided on a personalised aqua-fit session in the outdoor heated pool; glide down the 45 pistes and six off-piste ski routes; join a gastronomic excursion through the nearby Andalucían villages and stargaze with trained astrologers. Younger visitors aged 0-14 years can keep themselves busy and inspired at the Kids Club. Carefully designed by MiniMec, the playroom is brimming with toys, games and films to allow little ones to be creative.
Guests at El Lodge can indulge in three dining options. Enjoy tapas and light lunches at The Sun Deck, the only ski-in/ski-out restaurant in the Sierra Nevada; fill up on hearty, warming meat and fish dishes at The Grill and sip on a hot toddy by the fire at The Lounge. Additionally, The Bar offers a snug refuge in a whimsical vintage style to hole up in for evening cocktails.
Just one hour from Granada and two hours from Malaga, skiing at El Lodge can easily be combined with time on the beach and the property’s sister hotel, the legendary Marbella Club on the Costa del Sol.
