Has London’s heat got you feeling lethargic? Is the pre-summer holiday workload causing you endless stress? Perhaps you’ve rather overdone the pimms and ice cream recently?
Never fear: Cape Weligama, Sri Lanka’s leading luxury coastal resort, has just launched its brand new spa, along with a programme of bespoke wellness and fitness packages to satisfy even the most devoted — or indeed, lapsed — fitness fanatics and wellness warriors.
The Spa Sanctuary’s four light-filled treatment rooms, alongside a fully equipped gym, form the central wellness hub of the resort. Signature treatments include a dreamy hot lava shell massage, quench hydration facials and locally-sourced bamboo body scrubs.
We all know there’s nothing like a cup of tea to banish the day’s stresses — but how about a tea-infused massage?
Opening in the 150th anniversary year of Ceylon tea — the spa will celebrate Cape Weligama’s location and unique Dilmah Tea heritage. Products and therapies by luxury spa brand Thémaé celebrate the art of tea, with Thémaé’s signature four-tea elixir of white, green, black and red tea used in the ultimate stress-busting treatments.
For something a little spicier, the spa’s homemade scrubs are created from organic and locally-sourced spices, filling the air with the delicious scent of cloves, nutmeg, sweet orange and sandalwood.
Looking for a full mind, body and soul overhaul? The hotel has launched an exciting partnership with Barberyn Ayurveda Resort, combining expert consultation and treatments from highly skilled Ayurvedic doctors and therapists, with the luxurious surroundings of Cape Weligama.
