The Great British Summer at Beaverbrook

As an iconic British summer begins, Beaverbrook is delighted to launch their summer campaign which celebrates the best of Britain through whimsical experiences, thrilling driving opportunities, delightful dining and more.

This summer marks an iconic milestone in Britain’s history, and there’s no better way to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee than with the best of a Great British Summer at Beaverbrook. Quintessentially British by nature and nestled in the picturesque Surrey Hills, Beaverbrook is the perfect spot to experience adventurous dining offerings, embrace regal inspired activities, take a drive in iconic English cars, and soak up all that makes an English summer’s day so simply unique.

The Great British Moke Experience

Presenting an exclusive summer experience, Beaverbrook has partnered with Moke International to offer you the chance to get behind the wheels of this iconic British car.  Redesigned for the 21st century, the new electric model – the first of its kind in the UK – remains faithful to its origins and classic look, whilst also integrating the most pertinent elements of today’s automotive technology.  Two, Union Jack themed, roadworthy MOKEs will take front and centre on the forecourt of The House where they will be available for private hire for overnight hotel residents.

Feel the summer breeze rush through your hair as you navigate the winding country roads, along picturesque driving routes of the Surrey Hills, in this reborn British classic.  A 20-minute drive away is Newlands Corner, boasting cinematic views over the Surrey Hills and is the perfect spot for a Beaverbrook picnic, prepared by the team for you to enjoy in peaceful serenity.  Other scenic spots close by are Shere village, abrim with charming buildings, quaint tearooms, boutiques and pubs, and Painshill Park, a beautifully landscaped park and also the filming location of Netflix, period-drama hit Bridgerton.

Whether it’s a picnic adventure or simply a country escape drive, the MOKE, treasured for its unique styling and the feeling of freedom it evokes, presents a thrilling opportunity at Beaverbrook this summer.

The Great British Hot Air Balloon Dining

Following the success of last year’s Reach for the Sky Yakiniku dining experience, Beaverbrook is delighted to announce the return of their stationary hot air balloons in The Italian Garden at The House.  This year, sporting a Great British makeover, six Union Jack themed hot air balloons will frame the side of The House for alfresco Japanese dining with a twist.

Grounded within Beaverbrook’s magnificent gardens, each balloon will seat up to four and offers you the rare chance to savour authentic Japanese cuisine in the extraordinary settings of a classic hot air balloon basket.  This year Beaverbrook are delighted to add a change to the style of the balloon dining menu, meaning there’s something for everyone this summer.  A bespoke, interactive Japanese menu will be served with a generous portion of estate views.

The Great British Zaza Cocktail

Inspired by the Queen herself, Beaverbrook’s exclusive Jubilee cocktail, The Zaza, celebrates 70 years of the current British Monarch and is designed to impress!

The Zaza features Beaverbrook’s first branded gin, with hints of honey and botanical notes – a nod to the honeybees kept on the estate, as well as Marianne North’s botanical artwork collection displayed in Sir Frank’s Bar – that has been created at local distillery, Silent Pool.  Combined with Dubonnet Vermouth and house-made grapefruit and Beaverbrook honey cordial, the beverage is shaken and poured over ice, imitating the Queen Mother’s and the Queen’s favourite cocktail, The Dubonnet, or more famously … The Zaza!

Indulge in this elaborate cocktail will really feel like royalty, as you sip on the Queen’s favourite tipple whilst looking out over the estate of Beaverbrook.

The Great British Picnic

The stunning, countryside surrounds of the estate and beyond create an outstanding backdrop for an enchanting English picnic at Beaverbrook this summer.

Hop in a Moke, or one of the classic motors available to rent, to embark on a Downtown Abbey inspired picnic adventure, with all the necessities provided by Beaverbrook.  From picnic blanket and basket, to a picturesque spot and, of course, exquisite food and beverage, creating a picture-perfect picnic moment.

With hampers featuring classic British sandwiches – think cucumber and cream cheese – and scones, jam and cream handcrafted in house at The Garden House, along with Beaverbrook branded pre-mix cocktails, you will want for nothing more as they relax into hazy afternoons in the Surrey Hills.

The Great British Terraces

As warm spring evenings turn into long summer nights, Beaverbrook welcomes back its alfresco dining options across the estate, including the launch of a new terrace at The Deli in The Coach House Spa.

Japanese delicacies will be served on the terrace at The House with views of the Surrey Hills, whilst Anglo-Italian delights can be enjoyed in the calm surrounds of The Garden House, overlooking The Walled Kitchen Garden.  There’s also The Garden Table, secluded from the main terrace area and shaded by a wooden canopy, that stars an enticing Italian Summer Feast menu, designed for sharing.

The Terrace at The Deli is where you can enjoy alfresco, light, deli lunches or a stone-oven baked pizza in the evenings.  And during the daytime, The Pool Bar offers exquisite cocktails and Beaverbrook bubbles if you are looking to lay by the pool with a drink in hand.

With a plethora of alfresco dining offerings throughout the estate, guests will be spoiled for choice.

The Great British Motor Car

Make like royalty this summer when hoping into an Aston Martin DBX to explore the Surrey Hills and beyond.  Beaverbrook’s porter team are ready and waiting to take you for a spin in the luxury motor, with recommendations, routes and suggestions for an idyllic day in the countryside.

Further afield, and in keeping with a regal summer, relax in the Aston as you head towards Windsor Castle for a tour of the grand house and its grounds, or into London to watch the Changing of the Guards at Buckingham Palace.  Beaverbrook’s branded Aston Martin is available for airport transfers, as well as to transport you to their sister London property, Beaverbrook Town House in the heart of Chelsea, for an overnight stay, or maybe just a spot of boutique shopping and a Japanese lunch in The Fuji Grill, before bringing you back to the countryside estate again.

Looking for a self-drive experience? You will be spoilt for choice with a host of classic cars available to hire when staying at Beaverbrook.  All eyes will be on the Moke driving experience this year: living out summer dreams as you whip around the Surrey Hills in an electric, British themed car, the first of its kind to be available in the UK.

Looking for a more traditional ride? You can choose from the classic Jaguar E-Type, and plenty more, and will look at cut above the rest as you explore the surrounding country in an exquisite motor.

The Great British Family Day

With activities for all ages, you and your family can get the balance right at Beaverbrook this summer.  Your little ones can let their imaginations run wild whilst you indulge in some “me time”, before all reconnecting over dinner or through family friendly activities across the estate.

Throughout the summer Sharky & George, Beaverbrook’s resident kids club providers, will take charge of the children, with a whole host of activities including Jubilee inspired adventures, to night safaris, den building and more.  With morning and afternoon sessions available daily, you can relax in the knowledge that your little explorers will be kept active and inspired, giving you the perfect excuse to relax by the pool with a cocktail or two.

Nothing says British summer quite like a traditional English garden game … and there’s nothing better than a bit of friendly competition in the family to keep things interesting.  For a fun-filled afternoon, you and your family can try your hand at a game of petanque on The Lawn at The House throughout the summer.

Over the Jubilee long weekend, you will have the chance to experience Croquet like a pro with Beaverbrook’s Croquet Masterclass.  Martin Dock, Beaverbrook’s croquet coach will be on hand to share tips, tricks and techniques for an accessible and fun game of croquet.  A member of High Wycombe Croquet Club, Dock has been introducing guests of Beaverbrook to the joy of the sport since 2005 and recommends the modern game of Golf Croquet, for a more social and interactive game.

Following a short introduction, have the chance to learn as you play, with the emphasis being on enjoying a relaxing and fun game, meaning this is the perfect activity for your family to try together!

Tennis and padel tennis courts are available for any family looking to get into the Wimbledon spirit with a kid’s vs adults’ tournament, or a spot of badminton could be the summer sport of choice.  The team are on hand to provide rackets, balls and game tips!

Refreshments are a necessity, especially on a warm summer’s day, so after a morning of adventures, you and your family can catch up at The Ice Cream Truck, decorated in keeping with the Jubilee celebrations, for a refreshing treat.  From 2:00 to 4:00 pm, you will be able to enjoy a complimentary cone or cup … a delightful addition to a relaxing summer afternoon.

Tannner Krolle

Combining two heritage brands this summer, Beaverbrook are delighted to announce their partnership with one of Britain’s best luxury leather brands, Tanner Krolle.  Pioneers at the heart of the leathercraft industry since 1865, Tanner Krolle possess an unrivalled level of quality and craftsmanship, that they bring to Beaverbrook through their range of bespoke trunks.

Expect an exquisite cocktail experience on the estate, through the addition of Tanner Krolle’s signature Martini Trunk to the bar offering.  Wrapped in British woven horsehair and lined with Alcantara suede, this portable trunk is the perfect accessory for the bartenders at Sir Frank’s Bar and is a spectacular addition to the Hot Air Balloon Dining.

In keeping with the Great British Summer, Tanner Krolle also brings a range of horsehair striped sports trunks to the estate, that celebrate the quintessentially British lawn games so loved by Beaverbrook.  Take part in an afternoon round of petanque or croquet on The Lawn at The House, will elevate your game with balls and mallets presented in unique, intricately designed, leather trunks and cases.
