CHOMP GASTRO BEACH BAR REOPENS OFFERING ELEVATED BEACH-STYLE DINING, CORNISH CLASSICS AND SUMPTIOUS SHARING DISHES

Cornwall’s collection of lauded, luxury self-catering beach houses, Three Mile Beach, has announced the reopening of much-loved gastro beach bar, Chomp, for spring 2024. For the season and beyond, you are invited to enjoy locally sourced food and drink in a relaxed, characterful setting seven days a week.

A hidden gem within the wilds and set back from the sand dunes of Gwithian, Chomp connects foodies with the wonders of nature through the delight of al fresco dining; with the option of cosier seating for breezier days within a wooden-clad yurt, which is large enough to seat 30.

The theme of connection is apparent within the dishes too, the delicacies are designed with family-style sharing plates in mind. From Cornish specialities to world-wide favourites, Head Chef Olly carefully curated the new menu to reflect worldly wonder; local sourcing, foraging finds, and seasonal freshness. The selection ranges from Cornish mussels with nduja and saffron aioli,  gorgonzola and walnut stuffed fried olives, to harissa and honey glazed pork belly. Each meal is hand-crafted and made to order, using only the finest products from local suppliers, such as Etherington who are praised for their locally reared selection of rare breed animals as well as Celtic, acclaimed for their selection of fresh fish. The team has partnered with local drink suppliers including Tarquin’s, locally distilled, globally renowned gin, Jolly’s, bar-quality canned cocktails, St. Ives Brewery, Cornish craft beer, and Verdant, freshly brewed beer for a refreshing accompaniment for each culinary delight.

Alongside its food and beverage offering, Chomp is a space for creativity and expression. Live music nights invites local talent such as Angus Trott, the multi-instrumentalist soloist behind The Wave Machine to showcase his blend of live looping guitar, bass, trumpet and percussion, inspired by the ways of the ocean. For intimate occasions, the space can be hired for private events and dining events, with bespoke menu creation.

Located in St Ives Bay, just moments from Gwithian Beach, Three Mile Beach is a collection of 15 three and four-bedroom beach houses on the West Cornwall coast. New for the year ahead, the collection will see four brand new two-bedroom properties added to its line-up. With one double bedroom and one single bedroom, the smaller beach houses are perfect for couples, friend duos and young families wishing to explore the surrounding golden sands, rolling waves, and nearby coastal town of St Ives.

Colourful interiors see white wooden-clad walls and locally crafted furniture sitting alongside eclectic artworks and textiles sourced from the owners’ travels around the globe Each beach house is complete with roaring log burners, sunken cedarwood hot tubs and barrel saunas. You will have access to all Three Mile Beach amenities including a roster of local private chefs for intimate dinner parties, DIY pizza kits and a range of fun-filled activities including private surf lessons, bracing coasteering sessions and Wim Hof Method one and two-day workshops.
