BIRD is delighted to announce its partnership with Leitmotiv, a family-owned French hospitality company with boutique properties in Paris, Rome and Megeve. Founded by the Kampf family in 2017, Leitmotiv redefines causal luxury by creating hotels that deeply connect with the spirit of their surroundings while offering unforgettable stays in iconic European cities. BIRD is representing two compelling urban narratives: La Fantaisie, breathing new energy into Parisian chic, and Casa Monti, capturing the soul of Rome. This marks the beginning of an exciting partnership, with further expansion on the horizon.
La Fantaisie, Paris
A vibrant, botanical-inspired oasis in the centre of Paris
Tucked within in the 9th arrondissement, La Fantaisie captures the essence of Parisian living. Its 73 rooms and suites, alongside cleverly conceived gathering spaces, offer more than mere accommodation; they provide a genuine connection to the city’s pulse. Meticulously designed to create a harmonious environment, reflecting the vibrant energy of Rue Cadet, the market street outside, and immersing guests in the daily life of Faubourg Montmartre neighbourhood. The property’s heart lies in its generous courtyard garden, a quietly restorative space whose verdant presence subtly permeates the interiors. Guests can sense a deliberate botanical thread woven through the design, lending a dynamic dream-like quality to this Parisian haven.

Bold botanical design
The creative force behind the verdant vision is renowned interior architect Martin Brudnizki, marking his Paris debut. Inspired by a garden in full bloom, his design plays with botanic maximalism, soft greens mingling with sun-drenched yellows and coral accents, and ceilings blooming with floral frescoes, custom headboards, and scalloped furniture creating vibrant natural spaces. Awnings, parasols, and colourful outdoor furnishings artfully blend indoor and outdoor spaces.
63 rooms, ten suites – tranquil escapes, many with Juliet balconies framing either city or garden. Thoughtful details are part of the fabric: cane, petal-like glass, botanical wardrobes, Versailles inspired wallpaper. Bespoke furnishings, vibrant marble, bold colours, and texture. Nature informs the elegance.

Fantastical Parisian dining
La Fantaisie unfolds its dining delights with a trio of distinct yet equally enchanting spaces. The Restaurant, crowned by a luminous glass roof and spilling onto a sun -drenched terrace, offers a year-round bucolic escape where cosmopolitan plates meet a floral dreamscape – think scallop carpaccio kissed with orange, sublime turbot, and convivial ribeye’s, all set to the backdrop of evening music or a leisurely Sunday brunch. Just beyond, the bustling Café, a local and traveller favourite, spills onto Rue Cadet, serving unfussy French flavours with a vibrant streetside buzz from dawn till late. And finally, ascending to the city’s rooftops, Le Bar Sur Le Toit awaits – a jewel box of Twenties glamour in a swathe of bold pinks, golds, and greens, offering handcrafted cocktails and playful bites.

Holistic wellness and ancient bathing rituals
Beneath the city’s buzz lies La Fantaisie Spa, an expansive sanctuary for holistic well-being, drawing on ancient rituals and natural springs. It features three treatment rooms, a compact fitness area, and extensive bathing facilities for a unique urban escape. Guests can experience thermal bathing with a jacuzzi, mineral pool, and hot/cold baths, complemented by a sauna and hammam with cold plunges. The spa exclusively partners with Parisian plant-powered skincare brand Holidermie, also found in-room, and now offers transformative body remodelage by Martine de Richeville, blending TCM and deep massage, alongside signature treatments

Cultural programming and magical touches
La Fantaisie’s guest experiences immerse guests in the poetic rhythm of Parisian life. A private guided stroll with Léo, the hotel’s charismatic local guide, who reveals the neighbourhood’s hidden treasures – from undiscovered passages to tucked-away markets. For those who prefer to explore solo, a curated city guide offers insider access to the quartier’s best-kept secrets, from artisanal coffee shops and wine bars to serene gardens and cultural haunts.
Within the hotel, every detail is a sensory indulgence: La Fantaisie’s signature floral scent greets guests upon arrival; elevator soundscapes shift from morning birdsong to a symphonic crescendo by evening setting the perfect tone as guests prepare for their night ahead and thoughtful touches from the mini bars such a CBD lip balm and tongue scrapers to turndown gifts of melatonin and CBD gummies.

Casa Monti, Rome
A storied residence reborn as a stylish sanctuary in Rome’s oldest neighbourhood
Casa Monti, Leitmotiv’s newest property, is an 18th-century Roman residence, once home to notable artists and intellectuals, now reimagined as a discreet, stylish hideaway in the Eternal City. Having opened in June 2024, its striking interiors, palpable sense of history, and enviable location, moments from the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, the Colosseum, and the lively streets of Monti, blend artistic provenance with the effortless elegance of contemporary Roman living.

Heritage meets contemporary design
Monti, Rome’s oldest district, steeped in history and creativity, is home to Casa Monti, a tribute to its artistic soul. Designed by Laura Gonzalez, the space blends rich textures, bold colours, and a seamless mix of tradition and modernity. Terrazzo flooring, intricate mosaics, and hand-painted ceramics create a tactile link between heritage and contemporary design, while warm lighting and artisanal details add intimate, residential charm.
The 26 rooms and ten suites are individually designed with bespoke furnishings, handcrafted ceramics, and original illustrations of daily Roman life, creating a sense of narrative and nostalgia. Bathrooms feature travertine floors, blush tones, and amenities like mineral water sprays, silk sleep masks, and melatonin-infused gummies for added relaxation. The 52-square-metre Roman Suite offers a private terrace and is designed as an ‘upside-down’ artist’s studio, inspired by classical painters’ techniques for perfecting proportions.
The hotel’s art collection honours Rome’s heritage with frescoes, mosaics, and hand-painted ceramics, complemented by contemporary works like Filadelfio Todaro’s amphorae and Marina Mankario’s plaster Greco-Roman busts, bridging the city’s rich past with its vibrant present.

Authentic Roman dining
Casa Monti Ristorante, the hotel’s ground-floor trattoria, is a tribute to Italian gastronomy, where tradition meets sophistication in a warm, inviting setting. Led by Chef Umberto Tuccio, a Tuscan native, the menu features fettuccine with duck ragù and tonnarelli cacio e pepe, made with locally sourced ingredients. By day, the restaurant’s terrace, and bar buzz with the lively hum of locals, but as evening falls, the scene transforms to candlelit conversations over crisp white linen tablecloths.
Above, the Casa Monti rooftop offers a seductive counterpart to the ristorante’s rustic charm. Against Rome’s historic skyline, guests can sip on crafted cocktails inspired by the hotel’s storied patrons, from La Nonna to L’ Artigiano.

Wellness inspired by Roman traditions
Located on the fifth floor, Casa Monti’s spa, created in collaboration with renowned Austrian skincare pioneer Susanne Kaufmann, is her only spa in Rome. It reinterprets the timeless rituals of Roman baths by blending ancient plant wisdom with modern science and artisanal care. Offering innovative treatments designed to rejuvenate both body and mind, including the Alkaline Deep Cleansing Facial, the peaceful Hibernation Sleep Ritual to prepare for restful slumber, and the Susanne Kaufmann Signature Body Treatment, which features an invigorating body scrub and a full body massage, all while enjoying breathtaking views of the city’s iconic rooftops.

A cultural gateway to Monti
Once the haunt of poets and painters, Monti has evolved into a thriving hub of independent galleries, vintage boutiques, and intimate wine bars centred around Via Panisperna and Piazza della Madonna dei Monti. The hotel curates bespoke tours of the area, offering unique insights and special access into the district’s rich history, all just steps from Rome’s most iconic landmarks. Casa Monti also hosts a calendar of weekly events at the property, from evocative art exhibitions spotlighting renowned local talents like Mario Schifano to atmospheric dinners graced by oracle readers offering mystical insights.
