As Amsterdam celebrates its 750th anniversary, Pulitzer Amsterdam is ushering in the summer season with a curated collection of experiences that reflect the city’s rich heritage and vibrant spirit.
Here is BIRD’s curated guide of where to stay, what to do, and where to eat and drink in the city.
STAY
Pulitzer Amsterdam is a neighbourhood in its own right, spanning twenty-five connecting 17th and 18th-century canal houses. Reimagined in 2016 by Lore Group’s Creative Director, Jacu Strauss, amongst its unique spaces is the Collector’s Suite range, including The Flower Collector’s Suite, The Porcelain Collector’s Suite, and The Merchant Suite. Each Suite allows you to become fully immersed in the imagined lives of elaborate past residents, from a compulsive art devotee to an eccentric book lover and a grand antique collector.
Overlooking two of the city’s most picturesque canals, Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht, Pulitzer holds a prime location in the heart of Amsterdam’s UNESCO city centre. Pulitzer’s new Family Suites are thoughtfully designed with families in mind, featuring two elegantly furnished bedrooms, two marble bathrooms, and a spacious separate living room, perfect for relaxing after exploring the city. The new Suites celebrate Amsterdam’s storied past while embracing modern comfort, offering you a unique setting to reconnect and make memories in comfort and style.

SEE & DO
If you’re an art lover, ROKSANDA and Pulitzer Amsterdam have unveiled a striking series of works by artist Rana Begum, the brand’s second landmark collaboration, set against the backdrop of Amsterdam’s iconic waterways in Pulitzer’s Garden. Meanwhile, the upcoming opening of the DRIFT Museum will showcase Studio Drift’s performative, experimental artwork.
Witness the city burst into a kaleidoscope of colour for PRIDE (26 July – 3 August), a dazzling spectacle of love and unity that transforms the streets into one of the world’s most iconic LGBTQ+ celebrations, or experience an array of avant-garde performances at Amsterdam Fringe Festival (4 – 14 September), a nod to independent spirit and artistic freedom.
In August, set SAIL down one of Amsterdam’s many canals aboard The Belle, Pulitzer’s very own classic teak open tender, to celebrate the 10th edition of SAIL (20 – 24 August), one of the world’s largest maritime events, or discover one of Amsterdam’s most beloved annual cultural events held on a floating stage at the Prinsengracht Concert (23 August).
If you’re in desperate need of a reboot before diving back into Amsterdam’s lively energy, The Beauty House, offers a moment of curated calm. The hotel’s micro-wellness space invites guests to pause, reset, and indulge in a new kind of self-care ritual. At the heart of the experience are Ross J. Barr’s coveted plant-based wellness patches – available exclusively at the hotel this summer. Whether woven into your bespoke treatment or discreetly tucked inside your in-room minibar, these patches work through targeted pressure points to promote relaxation, balance hormones, and ease stress.

DRINK
Having launched in June, Pulitzer’s Bar – the Art Deco-inspired cocktail spot overlooking Amsterdam’s iconic canals – has unveiled an exclusive collaboration with cult New York fragrance house, D.S. & Durga. Inspired by the brand’s unique scents, Pulitzer’s Bar has reimagined mixology through the lens of scent, showcasing four new cocktails, each individually bringing a different D.S. & Durga scent to life in a drinkable format. Crafted with botanical distillates, rare spices, and aged essences, each drink is a sensory journey, sip by sip, like a well-worn perfume on the skin.
If you’re looking to soak up the sun, look no further than the Spritz Garden by Chandon. Sit back, relax, and soak up the sun while sipping a refreshing Chandon Spritzer (or two!) at the limited-time pop-up bar, in collaboration with Chandon, found in Pulitzer Amsterdam’s charming inner gardens, open until September.
EAT
Loved by tourists and locals alike, celebrated modern Dutch restaurant Jansz. is an effortless yet elegant spot for a casual breakfast, light lunch, or celebratory date night, and is currently showcasing its new spring/summer menu using locally sourced ingredients transformed into beautifully crafted dishes. Don’t miss the ‘Dutch yellowtail ceviche with bergamot and avocado’ and ‘braised spring lamb with leek, horseradish and lamb jus.’
On lazy Sundays in the city sunshine, unwind at Jansz. Family Sundays, an indulgent lunch experience with an extensive children’s menu and a dedicated playroom with supervising nannies, giving you precious time to come together.
Summer in the Stad has never looked better.
