Pulitzer Amsterdam, the famed heritage hotel of the Lore Group, in the heart of Amsterdam’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed canal belt, has unveiled its annual Christmas tree with renowned Dutch couture designer David Laport.
COUTURE CHRISTMAS TREE IN THE HEART OF AMSTERDAM
Standing at nine metres in Pulitzer Garden, the Festive Sparks Christmas tree is inspired by the hand-embroidered 3D textures of Laport’s latest collection, Pulitzer’s eclectic design, and the sparkling energy of fireworks.
Created by Laport, the dazzling installation reflects his signature couture style: architectural shapes, sculptural pleating, and refined craftsmanship. Covered with sculptural ornaments in champagne-coloured hues, Festive Sparks becomes a visual spectacle of light, colour, and movement.
Laport’s style has been embraced by fashion industry icons such as Rihanna, Solange Knowles, and Sia. Splitting his time between his Amsterdam atelier and New York City, Laport brings an international perspective to couture, all while staying rooted in Dutch craftsmanship.
THE FULL FESTIVE EXPERIENCE
Guests can deepen their experience with private visits to Laport’s Amsterdam atelier, reached by Pulitzer’s classic saloon boat. This outing offers a behind-the-scenes tour of the atelier, along with the chance to view (and even purchase) exclusive couture piece.
DESIGNER DETAILS THROUGHOUT THE HOTEL
Seasonal details continue throughout the hotel with Laport-inspired décor in the guestrooms and public spaces, including a limited-edition ornament designed by the couturier himself, available to buy as a festive keepsake. A signature David Laport cocktail – paired with a wearable ornament so guests can take a piece of the collaboration home – will be served throughout the season in Pulitzer’s Bar, Jansz., and Pulitzer Garden.
TWO DAY COUTURE SHOWCASE, THE DAVID LAPORT POP UP
On the 21-22 November, the hotel will host a David Laport Pop-Up, spotlighting pieces from the designer’s recent couture collections alongside collectible ornaments. Visitors can meet David whilst exploring his work in an immersive fashion setting.
David Laport comments, “It is a privilege to bring my couture language into such an iconic hotel in the city I call home. My work now spans Amsterdam and New York, but Pulitzer Garden has always been one of my favourite hidden gems here. This tree is about celebrating togetherness, light and sparkle, while showing that design can live beyond the runway – in a hotel, in a cocktail, in an ornament that becomes part of someone’s tradition.
The Pulitzer Amsterdam x David Laport festive tree blends the boundary between high fashion and Dutch luxury. On display in Pulitzer Garden from 20 November 2025 through to 6 January 2026, the tree invites guests and visitors alike to celebrate the season filled with warmth, wonder, and couture craftsmanship.
