Broadwick Soho and PADDINGTONTM The Musical come together to light up Soho this winter with a spectacular festive façade, thoughtful acts of kindness and magical touches throughout the hotel.

This winter, one of Britain’s most beloved characters makes his way to the heart of Soho. From 2nd November, London’s theatrical, design-led hotel, Broadwick Soho, unveils a magical new partnership with PADDINGTONTM The Musical, bringing Paddington’s unmistakable warmth, charm and curiosity to London’s most spirited neighbourhood.
Now playing at London’s Savoy Theatre, the multi-award-winning production brings the beloved bear to the stage in a spectacular new musical, with original music and lyrics by Tom Fletcher, a story by Jessica Swale and direction by Luke Sheppard. Packed with show-stopping songs, dazzling choreography, mishaps and mayhem at every turn – and of course, marmalade sandwiches – PADDINGTON The Musical is based on the iconic characters from Michael Bond’s books, with a story inspired by the award-winning 2014 film developed, produced and distributed by STUDIOCANAL (a Canal+ company).
The production follows Paddington’s journey when a small, lost bear from Peru arrives in London in search of a new home, a chance encounter with the Brown family leads him to the wonderful world of Windsor Gardens. But London isn’t all afternoon teas and friendly faces – and even the happiest families have their cracks beneath the surface. So, when a mysterious and vengeful villain sets her sights on Paddington, the Browns embark on a thrilling rescue mission, realising they need this special bear as much as he needs them.
Throughout the festive season until 25th January 2027, the partnership brings together two worlds united by a sense of joy, generosity and quintessential British eccentricity, with the musical’s enduring themes of kindness, family and belonging woven into a magical experience at Broadwick Soho.

PADDINGTONTM The Musical Lights Up Soho
At the centre of the collaboration is Broadwick Soho’s enchanting light installation, transforming the hotel’s façade into a tribute of PADDINGTON The Musical’s world. Drawing on cherished details from the production, the carefully curated display sees his iconic red hat, marmalade sandwiches and well-travelled suitcase playfully reimagined across the building, framed by a trail of twinkling lights.
The story continues at street level, where guests are welcomed into Broadwick Soho through an oversized illuminated jar of Aunt Lucy’s Marmalade. Both theatrical and nostalgic, the entrance offers a whimsical nod to one of Paddington’s most treasured connections to home and brings a little unexpected magic to the streets of Soho during the winter.

A little kindness goes a long way
Beyond the lights, the partnership celebrates something at the very heart of Paddington The Musical: kindness.
Broadwick Soho invites guests, visitors and passers-by to spread a little joy of their own by recognising someone deserving of a special act of kindness. Throughout the winter, a dedicated post box outside the hotel welcomes nominations, celebrating the people who make a difference to the lives of others, whether through a small everyday gesture or and extraordinary act of generosity.
In a heartwarming celebration of the season, nominees selected at random will be surprised with thoughtful gifts and experiences, from PADDINGTON The Musical merchandise to memorable stays and experiences at Broadwick Soho, and the chance to experience the award-winning musical in London’s West End. Inspired by Paddington’s belief that even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference, the initiative hopes to shine a light on the everyday generosity that so often goes unnoticed, bringing a little extra warmth and joy to Soho.
