Vestige Son Vell announces an exclusive capsule collection with Madrid-based MALNE, as the property opens its doors for the first full season. Founded in 2016 by designers Paloma Álvarez and Juanjo Mánez, MALNE is a curated selection of ready-to-wear and haute couture designs, regularly gracing the runways of Madrid Fashion Week.
The reopening of Son Vell will see MALNE launch a limited-edition series including palazzo-style trousers, silk dresses and light linen jackets to hand printed wrap skirts and kaftans, all drawing from the spirit and hues of Menorca and the ethos of Vestige. From its La Maison atelier, MALNE will harmoniously blend traditional hand-crafted techniques with contemporary design, reflective of Vestige breathing new life into architectural treasures while honoring cultural heritage.
A meticulously restored 18th century manor house, Son Vell is a Balearic sanctuary ensconced amidst the verdant wilds of Menorca, just moments from the coastline. Unveiled in June 2023 as a 33-key property, rooms are housed across the grand Italianate-style manor house and surrounding farm buildings, and see serene interiors characterised by terracotta tiles, original wooden beams and natural textiles sit alongside Menorcan artwork and antiques. Two restaurants serve seasonal fare sourced from the hotel’s own farmland and local artisan producers, while those looking to engage with island culture, can engage with a foray of artisan experiences from learning age-old techniques for shoe, jewellery or bag making, to painting handmade silk scarves and joining a herbalist to craft natural remedies, cosmetics and elixirs.
