Introducing tulåh wellness clinic – Kerala’s newest healing sanctuary | February 2026 opening

BIRD is delighted to announce the upcoming opening of tulåh, the pioneering clinical healing sanctuary set in the lush hills of northern Kerala, set to debut in February 2026.

Marking a bold new era for integrative wellness, tulåh combines the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda, Yoga, Vedanta, Tibetan and Traditional Chinese Medicine with advanced diagnostics and regenerative science. This first-of-its-kind destination for personalised healing and transformation puts India at the forefront of the global wellness landscape, where modern medicine meets the traditional practices of the East.

Nature-informed design

Set across 30 acres of rewilded forests and medicinal gardens with 65 suites and 14 treatment rooms, the design of tulåh is itself part of the healing journey. Architecture and nature merge through sustainable innovations, including rainwater harvesting, radiant cooling and natural materials, creating elegant spaces deeply connected to the Keralan landscape. At its heart stands The Sonorium, the world’s largest sound healing dome, where harmonic frequencies restore balance at a cellular level. Native landscaping restores local flora and supplies the apothecary and restaurant, where chefs create nourishing dishes with garden-grown produce and sustainably sourced meats and fish.

The tulåh approach to healing

The tulåh approach to healing is deeply personal. Each journey begins long before their stay, with a comprehensive pre-arrival assessment analysed through The tulåh Life Index™, evaluating physical, mental and emotional health. Whether embarking on a short four-day wellness retreat or a 21-day oncology recovery programme, every plan is tailored to your unique needs. You can choose between the Wellness Journey, focusing on prevention, regeneration and recalibration or the Clinical Journey, supporting chronic conditions and recovery. Whichever plan you take, the philosophy remains the same: true healing happens when clinical expertise meets traditional practices.

Medical mastery

At the core of tulåh’s offering is its state-of-the-art clinical facility, equipped for everything from genome and microbiome mapping to advanced radiodiagnostics, CT and MRI scans and even minor surgical procedures. The in-house medical team spans modern medicine, Ayurveda, functional medicine, psychology, TCM, nutrition and movement science, creating a collaborative, multidisciplinary model rarely seen in wellness. For complex cases, tulåh collaborates with over 200 specialists from the JCI-accredited Meitra Hospital, its sister institution just 20 minutes away.

Engineered calm

tulåh is a hub for innovation.  Alongside cutting-edge therapies like hyperbaric oxygen, cryotherapy and photobiomodulation, the sanctuary introduces the Ayurvedic Vichy Bed, a world-first and globally patented design created by tulåh’s own engineering team. This invention reimagines traditional oil-based rituals into luxurious, immersive experiences. By merging biotechnology with rituals such as Panchakarma, tulåh builds a bridge between past and present, East and West, offering a glimpse of what the future of healing might look like.

Ancient practices, modern purpose

The Sanskrit word tulåh means balance, and that philosophy runs through every aspect of the sanctuary.  Each day unfolds through a personalised rhythm of treatments and practices, from Ayurvedic and Tibetan therapies to cupping, moxibustion, IV nutrient therapy and regenerative treatments like exosome infusions. Guests move between Iyengar Yoga, aquatic therapy, breathwork and sound healing sessions held beneath the sanctuary’s striking Sonorium dome. The foundations for all of this lie in the practice of Iyengar Yoga and the principles of Vedanta, together aligning the mind and the body in a state of harmony.

A legacy of innovation

At the heart of tulåh’s story is engineer, philanthropist and visionary, Faizal Kottikollon. Born in Kerala, Kottikollon has spent his life designing systems that uplift people and communities, from the award-winning Meitra Hospital to transforming over 1,000 schools across India and Africa. With tulåh, he brings that same ingenuity inward, creating a lasting legacy of clinical healing that bridges the scientific and the spiritual. As Kottikollon puts it, “the beauty of clinical wellness is that you heal people, and that’s the biggest blessing you can get in life.”

Charting the future of wellbeing

tulåh’s flagship in Kerala lies at the heart of a wider vision to redefine healthcare and wellbeing. Expanding this vision are two new initiatives: Urban tulåh, city-based wellness hubs launching first in Dubai in 2026, and tulåh at Home,  a data-led personalised care platform for everyday wellbeing. Together, they offer a glimpse of the future of integrative healing, rooted in tradition, beautifully designed and globally connected.
